Quick Quake

As of 12th Sept 2007 (roughly around 7pm), it was just like every normal evening. But this evening is one heck of an interesting evening. Most of my colleagues are still in office in 16th floor (as usual, i am there as well). Of all a sudden we felt some minor tremors. Actually i dont quite realise it and i thought it is quite normal. I brush it off as a minor 'interference' due to nearby construction of 'The Pavilion'.

But then again, the tremor seems to be 'playing' around with my chair as i felt my chair rocking back & forth. Soon, one of my colleague said that there is a quake near Indonesia! The 1st two tremor last only a few seconds. But the 3rd one is much stronger and vibrant. So........ we decided to pack our notebooks and get the hell out of the building.. hehe.. What a (scary yet exciting) sensation. There is nothing much to shout about actually, as this is my really first taste of small tremor. Compared to those who are dwelling in Indonesia, they must hv felt 100X more terrible and scared.

So, we took the lift to ground zero and saw a few groups of people have gathered around and seems exited. Some looks abit nervous. As I walked past, I heard whispers and people discussing about their 'exciting experience. Well, i just hope that everything would be fine and there is no casualties this time as compared to the deadly quake in 2004 that kills more than 200,000 people

Zainal Abidin - Hijau

How many would remember the name Zainal Abidin? I am not refering to our current Yang Di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin, but the Zainal Abidin that some of us knew him as a singer.

Well, it is a bit disappointing that the famous Wikipedia does not hold any information regarding him. But with a stroke of luck & googling, I found a piece of interview here. I personally like the tunes and lyric of the song named 'Hijau'. Hijau (Green) is about environmental issues that is plaguing us due to human's greed, corruption and obsession. For everyone's hearing pleasure, embedded here is Zainal Abidin's masterpiece, 'Hijau'. Enjoy it :D...

Zainal Abidin - Hijau
Bumi yang tiada rimba
Seumpama hamba
Dia dicemar manusia
Yang jahil ketawa

Bumi yang tiada udara
Bagai tiada nyawa
Pasti hilang suatu hari
Tanpa disedari

Bumi tanpa lautan
Akan kehausan
Pasti lambat laun hilang
Duniaku yang malang
Dewasa ini kita saling merayakan
Kejayaan yang akhirnya membinasakan
Apalah gunanya kematangan fikiran
Bila di jiwa kita masih lagi muda
Dan mentah
Ku lihat hijau

Bumiku yang kian pudar
Siapa yang melihat
Di kala kita tersedar
Mungkinkah terlewat

Korupsi,opresi,obsesi diri
Polusi,depressi,di bumi,kini

Oh..anok-anok
tokleh meghaso mandi laok
Besaing,maing ghama-ghama
Ale lo ni tuo umurnyo bejuto
Kito usoho
Jauhke dari malapetako
Ozon lo ni koho nipih nak nak aghi
Keno make asak
Hok biso wei,pasa maknusio
Seghemo bendo-bendo di dunio
Tokleh tehe
Sapa bilo-bilo

The Terminal

I have been wanting to watch this comedy when it came out, but never got the chance.. The reason..? Working, flying to & fro was the reason.. haha, well that is what i can think of.. even when it is showing on UBC channel during that time, i always find myself in Siamlife office till late at night..

The Terminal, tells the story of a traveler, Viktor Navorski from Krakozhia (well you won't be able find this place anywhere in the map or atlas, cos it is fictitious!!) gets stuck in John F. Kennedy Airport upon arrival.. This is due to the fact that, his passport have become invalid as his country is involved in a civil war.. So this Viktor have no where to go as he cant enter New York, nor he can return home..!! Now this is where the fun starts..

So he makes Gate 67 his 'home'.. Everyday without fail, he will try to get to the immigration, manned by a pretty immigration officer, and tries to get a visa and gets out of JFK Airport.. All he get is a 'DENIED' stamp.. Undeterred, he began to pick up English by frequenting the airport bookstore for books.. He even fixed himself a bed (mind you, it is actually 2 rows of seated chair fixed together).. Viktor can even earn money in the airport, of course in an unconventional way.. So if anyone of us gets stuck in the airport like our friend Viktor, we could pick up an idea or two from this movie..

This is a quite an entertaining movie.. Needless to say, the way he interacts with all the characters brings lots of charm & laughs.. this movie is acutally inspired by a true story.. to know more, click here & here.. the quote i liked most from the movie is "We Are All Waiting For Something".. yeah i guess we all do.. well, im not gonna go in-depth into the plot as i am lazy to write, haha.. watch it..!!

My One & Only

You are every man's desire.
Most importantly you are my desire.
You are perfect in almost every aspect.

You have such sexy lips.
You have all the right curves that every man ever dreamt of.
Sleek & slender.
You have such round and beautiful eyes.

With you, I could go to heaven.
I wanna make you grunt as wild as you can.
And the sound of your grunt gives me the adrenaline rush.
And only the sound of your grunt would satisfy my hunger for you.

I dreamt of you every now and then.
Hoping to be with you every now & then.
Hoping to get to hold you.
Holding you tightly, no matter what.
Hoping to have you one day.

I will take care of you no matter what.
I will love you forever.
Till death do us apart.

Please be my wife one day.
You are my one and only Carrera.

How Secure Is Secured..?!?

Some says, biometric security system is one of the best defenses against crimes.. Biometric is basically uses our physical traits (eye scans, thumbprints, voice etc) to actually identifies who we really claimed we are, thus the name 'bio'.. But is it that good..? Can our physical traits be manipulated & copied and used to bypassed biometric security systems..? Well according to Jamie & Adam, it does.. Behold, the Mythbusters will show you how..

Yeah, home networking + wifi

yay, at last.. i have bought a wifi router + 4 ports... been wanting to setup a network since i got my laptop and now here it is.. i can browse at the comfort of my study room with aircond & with 101% privacy (well at least it's better than in da living room :D).. what's more, it's hot in the living room and lots of mosquitoes (usually in da evening)... well, in da first place, i did thought of buying a D-Link wifi router, but 1 of my friend is using a D-Link product and he says that the signal strength is not that good...

today, with a stroke of luck, i met an old high school friend at LowYat plaza.. we chat for a while and he using a D-Link wifi router as well.. so he recommend a friend who is selling routers to me... in the end, i bought a Level One wifi router, model WBR-3408, at a price of RM140

Driving with an expired driving licenses ^_^

today is quite interesting... my bro is sick and i hv to take him to the doc as my parents have an outing.. spend the day watching movie, having some pc games and soccer... today i drove 3 times.. morning once, afternoon once and evening once (from soccer session)...

well, only today that i realised that i am such a fool...! my driving license had actually expired before chinese new year, and i have been driving around in & out of town for a month++ in an invalid driving license... damn, i am lucky as i drove frm Raub to KL in an expired license...

speaking of which, it brings to my attention that, having a 3-5 year renewal plan for driving license aint good as it's suppose to be.. although it saves the hassle of having us to get a renewal every year, some nerds like me might just forget about da renewal thing jus keep driving on the road, till we commit a road offence and the mr policeman might ask 'encik, Sila tunjukkan lesen memandu' and face the music..!

well, i hafta renew my driving license tomorow.. luckily i am on leave... haha, bless me...

When things get soaked in water.....

Oh great... i hv just discovered something rather shocking last nite... no wonder i can't find my USB drive for one whole day while im in office.. i hv left my poor 2gb piece of usb drive in my shirt, and left it soaked in water and worse of all, in a washing machine for 1 night...!?! if it is my old 128MB of USB, i wouldn't care much about it :D..! damn, last time it was my passport that gets the same grueling fate, being soaked in the washine machine for one night...! if it was my phone, im gonna bang my head on the wall..!!

well, this morning i hv just plugged in my USB and, viola, it works just fine... lucky those soap waters did not really short-circuited my USB drive... haha... and by far the luckiest is, the pics frm Centerpoint & Bangkok Motor show is still in it (and of course some other junks :D).

oh, better get back to work asap.... ciaoz

Today's story is.....

string of bad luck, comin day after day... juz today, when the sky looks so so, it rained when im on my way back... what a day... when i dislodge myself frm the monorail, it begans to rain even heavier... of course i will call for backup, to bring me umbrella, but alas, my dad is out jogging... so i will juz hv to wait for him to come... when the rain began to slow down, i hv decided not to wait & begin to make my way back on foot... crossing the road is no easy task as there are traffic police overlooking the traffic flow.. thanks to him, i will hv to wait to cross and whadaya know, it began to rain again..!! and there it goes, the 'kind' police officer stops the traffic on my side and so i began to run across the road like a madman, looking for cover... that is madness..!!

oh ya, there is 1 more thing... my task on SSL implementation is still hanging... how could such things drag me on..!? argh...!!! hving no basic internet/networking/server basics really turns me upside down... hmm, now i missed my RPG/400... hahaha.. i hope 1 fine day, i would look back at this post & laugh at myself 'implementing is SSL is VERY easy, how come i never think of this & that when i first try it...!!!'.... anyway thanks to all my colleagues who helped me to sort my things out.. appreciate it very much..

gotta sign off for now... this SSL thingy hv squeezed all my brain juices for the day...

T!me to upload my hideout in BKK, Centrepoint...

yup, time to upload some photos of my 'den' in BKK, which is a well kept place, tidy, cosy and a happening place as well.. did not manage to snap much photos though..

BTS station is withing walking distance (which is my main transport to office btw...). All this while, i hv stayed in 1102, 1802, 1002... that is fyi is a studio room which i hv quite a few roomates: Chuan, CLK, Sunny, Stanley... all nice fellas... oh and for the record, my last roomate is CLK, who he hv the most roomates than any other Silverlakers...!! haha..

CulTural Sh0ooo0o0ck

come lets see... what to post today... well why not what i hv been thinking lately..? u are not gonna believe it.. i hv the feelings just like what my previous roommate, Sunny had said... Cultural Shock is the term he coined... he describes it as a feeling of 'shock' when he needs to leave BKK for KL.. now, is how i feel, cultural shock... haha

of course, i felt it... i think i hv mentioned the difference in another blog, that living in BKK is pretty nice (tons better) than KL... keke.. free & easy kinda lifestyle, less rush & less hectic.. there is cheap good coffee (not like the ever expensive Coffee Bean etc)... enjoyable lunchtime... great nite life, great table tennis opponents, warm & cosy service apartment, with lotsa friendly people, lotsa taxi rides (toyota altis) that wont cheat (KL cab drivers tends to)..... no more tomyam, tom sap, somtum, no more fried rice (chicken, pork, prawn, fish), no more 'kao lao'

apart frm Singapore which i hv visited, BKK would be the best destination in my travel list.. hehe, lets just say, make a vow to visit BKK when there is time... hmm, gotta gather money and maybe an army of friends to visit BKK next time... its a place to free our minds, as i would say... i just love Fridays in BKK... hehe last day of work.. there is relieve when the clock strucks 6pm, knowing that that is the end of the work day...

working is boring.. lol, did i just said boring..?! well i guess alot of people might agree with me.. ya, i can read your minds.. u fellas just have to agree with me.. sigh

Party People, It's Friday Nite... signing off now...

Rain rain rain rain...

sigh, rain rain rain... i wonder if the words 'Rain rain go away...' ever carries anything magical... ? i will it ever come true in a few minutes after uttering those words..? haha, i guess not.. well it is very dark & cloudy for the past few days in KL... the worse thing about the rain is, it brings flood back to Johor again... some of the roads are reported caved in and some residents are completely cut off from receiving aids.... and it is raining in KL too... lolx, great nite for sleeping... cool and relaxing....

Reopening of Don Muang airport

According to Bangkok Post's latest news, there is a possibility that Don Muang will be re-open....wow great news, as I myself prefer the good ol Don Muang.. Don Muang hv all the facilities and good lighting condition as compared to Suvarnabhumi, which is quite dull & dim.. it is not to say that Suvarnabhumi is not well equipped, but the layout of the shops in unbearable.. there is not once but twice, i hv to walk frm one end to the other end of the building, juz to get to my terminal (somewhere at gate G), and it takes me 10 minutes to get there..!!!

one of my colleague even said
at nite, cant see when im in the waitin hall.. dark and cold.. can sleep man..
see the floor all crack..
i remember cos there is once the trolley wheel get stuck in the hole..

terrible terrible... now it makes me think, why does our government does not approve the use of Subang Airport as a low cost carrier terminal..?!?!?!

why build a brand new LCCT that looks more of a factory than an airport terminal...!?! LCCT really sux... insufficient chairs, packed & crowded, even the immigration counters is not enough... tell us, its compulsory to change to smart passport, with juz 2 autogates to serve us... wtf...?!?! oh ya, not to mention abt the service conveyor belt that brings out the luggage frm the airplane... can u imagine hving JUST 3 of those belts...!?!? shuttle bus service frm LCCT-KLIA sux toooooo...!?!

expected to handle millions passengers a year..juz dream on, with kinda shitty facilities, im sure it will generate lots of complain frm foreign tourist... well i just did..!

My work space...

Yep, this is my tiny workspace... juz hv a glimpse

iPhone, not my phone...

One word to describe it... Just amazing and cool.. Yes, Apple have just launch their latest gadget, the iPhone recently at the Macworld 2007.. The ever successful iPod have captured the attention and hearts of many music lovers around the world, and now with the iPhone, it is gonna take the world by storm yet again...

It is a wonderful & a design marvel... this thing does not have any keypad and a stylus for input... the main display is the touch screen by itself... it have a 2MP camera, with a choice of 4GB or 8GB storage space, WiFi capability, quadband GSM.... it is just great...!! but there is a catch though... this wonder does not support 3G... gosh, it doesnt..? yeah it does not, so basically it is a 2.5G phone...oh oh oh, yeah, one more coooool stuff abt the iPhone... it hv a feature called 'Pinch' zooming..

here is the link to the 'Pinch' featureTo preview the feature of 'Pinch', click here

New Office.... 2007..!!

Hmm, too many blog sites to maintain nowadays, although im not an avid blogger, jus write smthing when i feel there is a need to.. yep, i hv just started one in MSN Space... nvr knew that there is one in MSN before this.. lolx, not much of a MSN Hotmail user since it's mailbox is juz 2MB back in 2000...

anyway, first few days in new company is quite boring... juz read documents... phew... lets describe abt the office environment.. small, quite (sometimes if there is no discussion), with cubicles (which is not available in Siamlife office & Silverlake).... yep, there is no desktop, but laptop.... so everyone here is using a laptop... and we have to carry it back home... luckily its a small laptop, 12 inches wide.. but im not used to such small displays.. fonts are way too small to read at... why not a 14 inch display? hehe cant complain so much as it is a Latitude D420... hv to get on with it anyway...
^_^

oh, too bad, i missed the bangkok lifestyle... haha lolx... everything is different... food, people, lifestyle, cheaper coffee, no side walk traders in KL, oh oh oh and not many leng luis to look at too... lolx hahahaha... now that is the difference...!!!!!!

anway, im looking forward to visit BKK real soon... and hope those people responsible for the New Year Eve bombing in BKK will be caught and brought to justice... let there be peace and prosperity for all...!!!!
